Confident Twosday with I do deClaire

I do deClaire (Bloglovin) | Convenient Style (Bloglovin

I've owned this J.Crew tweed blazer for several years now and every fall/winter season, I rediscover it all over again. Here, I added a neon striped button up to brighten the colors and offset the formality of the blazer.  And while I still love this jacket, there's no harm in browsing a few other tweed possibilities, right? Take a look at a few options I picked out below (loving the collarless ones, especially).

Today, I'm thrilled to be co-hosting the Confident Twosday linkup with Laura from I do deClaire. Not only does she promote self-confidence, but the girl can layer like no other! Thank you to Laura for having me today!

Layering Win

I have several knit sweaters that come the fall/winter season, just aren't good matches in material and length for the weather conditions. So, last week I improvised and slipped on this silk taupe tunic underneath to add a warm layer and lengthen the look of this crisp white sweater (last seen here). I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the end result and thrilled to have discovered a way to wear my light-weight knits all winter long. I'm counting this a small win for my closet!

Trouser Jeans

I recently read this post about the dimishing popularity of the skinny jean, and couldn't have been happier. While I love the look of skinny jeans, the comfort level is next to nill when I'm running around with the kids all day long. So, when I scored these wide leg trouser jeans from my neighborhood's consignment Facebook page (yes, this exists and it's awesome), I was thrilled to put away my skinnies, at least for one day!

Camel and Black

I'm really loving this classic color combo lately. From my cozy tunic and cropped pants, to this all black outfit and blazer, and these distressed jeans and long coat, or this trendy hat and coat look. Two neutrals together in rich fabrics and textures can elevate any daily look. Try it for yourself.

Universal

Wrap coats, such as this one, wrap dresses, wrap shirts, or wrap sweaters are by and large THE most flattering silhouette a woman can wear. Even if your waistline is not your favorite body part, wrap it up with one of the below options and you instantly look slimmer, chicer and more put together. Done and done!

p.s. If you're ever looking for quality minimalist jewelry that can be worn on a daily basis with jeans and t-shirt or a sleek date night out, be sure to visit Page Sargisson. I'm sporting the Frankie cuff and  Myla ring here and have worn the heck out of these. Just sayin.

Shopping Alone

Over the weekend, I had the rare opportunity to hit up the half yearly sale at Nordstrom alone, ALONE! It was two glorious hours spent walking the aisles, trying on clothes in a quiet dressing room, grabbing a cold beverage and enjoying the company of complete strangers. Cheers to doing that again...next year!

Oh, and before I forget, a big shout out to my madre for sending me another awesome souvenir from her recent trip to Las Vegas. This Tory Burch silk tunic feels and looks like heaven.

Jewel Tones

It's Friday! Looking forward to spending a cool and breezy weekend at home with my hubs and kiddies. And layering rich jewel tones like these to offset the dreary, overcast days. Have a great one, friends!

Tuxedo Stripe

Confession: I've owned this Narciso Rodriguez for Kohls white blazer with black tuxedo stripe for over a year and have never worn it! I'm ashamed that I've waited this long and when I threw it on for a recent date night, I was surprised as the ease, comfort and chicness of it. Had I known this a year ago, it would have been rotated much more frequently. Better late than never I guess!

Layering Stripes

Most days here in South Carolina, the mornings and evenings are cool, but the afternoon is still pleasant and sunny. So this look is perfect for those mixed days. And once winter rolls around, I'd throw on a pair of tights and booties. Layering stripes and chambray can take you through many seasons of change. Have a great week!

Sparkle and Roses

From the soft rosettes on this sweatshirt to the sparkle in my knotted necklace and adorned d'orsay flats, this look is both romantic, uber comfortable and perfect for a casual date night out. I've worn this LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls textured top at least a dozen times and keep finding excuses to keep it in heavy rotation. Have a great week, friends!
