Last week, we were blessed with sunny weather in the 60s for a few days and all I needed to keep me warm in the cool breeze was this graphic printed scarf wrapped around my neck. Sadly, the weather didn't last long, but I'll take whatever I can get!

This color combo never gets old for me. A little preppy, a total classic and still on trend anytime of the year. I also am loving the layered sweater look you've been seeing everywhere. Citrus

While I do love a classic neutral outfit, I've been leaning towards brighter colors this new year. And especially this citrus hue worn in the dead of winter instantly lifts my spirit and mood (a definite must on dreary days). Have a great weekend!

In(vest)ed

While back home in Chicago visiting family and friends recently, I scored big time in the vest department at Forever XXI (took full advantage of being child-less). And with the faux fur vest trend so hot right now, it's great to find one (or three) for a lot less than I've seen elsewhere. Plus, our winters in South Carolina are fairly mild, so these are the perfect outerwear add-ons to see me through till Spring.

Post-Holiday Plaid

Prior to the holidays, I found these ankle length plaid pants at Target with the intention of wearing them to a holiday party. But for whatever reason, I never did. So I'm back after the holidays (sorry for the radio silence - the holiday craze got to me big time this year), with a post-Christmas option in sporting these plaid trousers. Adding a lightweight denim jacket or chambray shirt with trendy sneakers makes them casual enough for daytime or footing a high heeled pump for a night out with friends. I hope to make even more use of these pants through the rest of winter. Happy Tuesday!

Confident Twosday with I do deClaire

I've owned this J.Crew tweed blazer for several years now and every fall/winter season, I rediscover it all over again. Here, I added a neon striped button up to brighten the colors and offset the formality of the blazer.  And while I still love this jacket, there's no harm in browsing a few other tweed possibilities, right? Take a look at a few options I picked out below (loving the collarless ones, especially).

Layering Win

I have several knit sweaters that come the fall/winter season, just aren't good matches in material and length for the weather conditions. So, last week I improvised and slipped on this silk taupe tunic underneath to add a warm layer and lengthen the look of this crisp white sweater (last seen here). I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the end result and thrilled to have discovered a way to wear my light-weight knits all winter long. I'm counting this a small win for my closet!

Trouser Jeans

I recently read this post about the dimishing popularity of the skinny jean, and couldn't have been happier. While I love the look of skinny jeans, the comfort level is next to nill when I'm running around with the kids all day long. So, when I scored these wide leg trouser jeans from my neighborhood's consignment Facebook page (yes, this exists and it's awesome), I was thrilled to put away my skinnies, at least for one day!

I'm really loving this classic color combo lately. From my cozy tunic and cropped pants, to this all black outfit and blazer, and these distressed jeans and long coat, or this trendy hat and coat look. Two neutrals together in rich fabrics and textures can elevate any daily look. Try it for yourself.

Wrap coats, such as this one, wrap dresses, wrap shirts, or wrap sweaters are by and large THE most flattering silhouette a woman can wear. Even if your waistline is not your favorite body part, wrap it up with one of the below options and you instantly look slimmer, chicer and more put together. Done and done!
