Easy Match

If I'm ever in a rush (always) or can not find anything that looks good together (constantly), this combo of stripes, a blazer and a bright statement necklace are my go-to for looking instantly pulled together without much thought. And bonus for having lots of options for the bottom half - distressed jeans, a-line skirt, shorts, white pants - the possibilities are endless! Here's to a stree-free week of easy dressing.

Furry Collar

It usually takes a me a little while to jump on a trendy bandwagon, especially those that are realistic for a 30 something mother of three (no thank you, overalls)! But I did recently find this image and figured I'd give the furry collar a try. And happy I did! I adore the extra glam it adds to an otherwise basic outfit and plan on donning it over sweaters, coats, or even a casual dress (adorable here). See below for some faux fur options.

In the Nude

Layers are key this time of year, right? But, I'm not so much into layering with dark, heavy colors or bulky fabrics this late into winter anymore. What I am into, are spring-like hues and soft textures that give the hint of warm air, but still realistic for the outside conditions (which aren't pretty right now in my neck of the woods). In any case, this neutral ensemble is exactly what I need to keep me dreaming of spring.

Citrus

While I do love a classic neutral outfit, I've been leaning towards brighter colors this new year. And especially this citrus hue worn in the dead of winter instantly lifts my spirit and mood (a definite must on dreary days). Have a great weekend!

In(vest)ed

While back home in Chicago visiting family and friends recently, I scored big time in the vest department at Forever XXI (took full advantage of being child-less). And with the faux fur vest trend so hot right now, it's great to find one (or three) for a lot less than I've seen elsewhere. Plus, our winters in South Carolina are fairly mild, so these are the perfect outerwear add-ons to see me through till Spring.
