Ruffles

It seems I can't enough of army green these days. But I figured since the weather doesn't feel like fall yet, at least the colors I choose to wear can! Here's to hoping for cooler weather (or at least cool enough not to sweat through my clothes). Below are some similar items of my look.

Red, White & Blue...and Green

Happy Friday! What are you plans for the weekend? We'll be busy with soccer, t-ball, my first 10K race (eek) and birthday parties.  Hope you and your family have a great one!

Going for Leopard

Lately, I've been trying my best to shop my closet and wear pieces I haven't worn in several months or wear items in new ways. Take this leopard print top for instance. I've owned this for several seasons now (even wore it as a maternity top, which feels forever ago) and struggled with making it wearable for the everyday. However, one thing I've been asking myself after staring at the mirror for way too long, is if I saw someone else wearing this, would I think it's cute? And when the answer is yes to my own question, I go for it. So, long story short, this is
me going for it.

Lastly, wanted to point out these ultra gorgeous rose gold hoop earrings from a small boutique in Key West, FL called Besame Mucho. If you're ever in that part of the country, it's a must visit!

Lace and Denim

I normally wear this lace top with skinny jeans and heels for a night out, but when I paired it with these denim cutoffs for running errands and shuffling kids around town, I think I like it even better this way. There's something special about wearing fancy lace for daytime.

Black Patterns

Trying to transition to fall clothing while living in the South is not very seamless. It'll still be 90 degrees in late September (no complaints here coming from the Midwest), but when you're ready for darker colors and heavier layers, you either sweat your tail off or instead opt for something like this outfit. The deeper hue and pattern mixing are a perfect way to make the transition (at least in my head) much smoother.

Statement Necklace Part 2

As promised, here is my second look sporting this Kate Spade statement necklace (see Part 1 here). Perfect for work, church, brunch or even running errands, I wanted to show how you can tone down an otherwise bold piece using similar shades. Plus, a monotone look is one of the easiest ways to look pulled together without much effort (which is always a plus in my book)!

Statement Necklace Part 1

I've "owned" this Kate Space necklace for over a month now - I say "owned" loosely because this is another borrowed piece from my Mama, but she does live 700 miles away, so technically it's been in my possession longer! I got off subject here, didn't I? Anywho, this statement necklace with its large, faceted beads and multi-strand layers make it truly an outfit of its own, but rather than sporting my skivvies with it, I accented it with a graphic t-shirt and my favorite white skinny jeans. Perfect with heels for a date night or casual enough with flats for running around. Tomorrow, I'll be showing how I paired this orange stunner in a more monotone look.

Have a great week!
