Statement Necklace Part 2

As promised, here is my second look sporting this Kate Spade statement necklace (see Part 1 here). Perfect for work, church, brunch or even running errands, I wanted to show how you can tone down an otherwise bold piece using similar shades. Plus, a monotone look is one of the easiest ways to look pulled together without much effort (which is always a plus in my book)!

Statement Necklace Part 1

I've "owned" this Kate Space necklace for over a month now - I say "owned" loosely because this is another borrowed piece from my Mama, but she does live 700 miles away, so technically it's been in my possession longer! I got off subject here, didn't I? Anywho, this statement necklace with its large, faceted beads and multi-strand layers make it truly an outfit of its own, but rather than sporting my skivvies with it, I accented it with a graphic t-shirt and my favorite white skinny jeans. Perfect with heels for a date night or casual enough with flats for running around. Tomorrow, I'll be showing how I paired this orange stunner in a more monotone look.

Swingy Stripes

I don't visit Anthropologie very often (too far away and not a great place to shop with three kids - I mean the small breakable trinkets every 5" are too stressful for this mama), but when I do, I usually come out with amazing finds. For instance, this striped, swingy top was my latest discovery while actually searching for accessories for an upcoming wedding (Anthro has great jewelry on the cheap, right??). So, when I found this hanging on the sale rack I quickly changed suit. Thank you Anthropologie for always diverting my attention!

Jackpot

I hit the jackpot this past week my friends. My mother (the queen of style herself) gave me (or lent me, but that's hearsay) a truckload of new baubles and gems. Shorts Season

While it's still not consistent, this week had temps in the 80's! And rather than sweating by tush off in a pair of jeans, I traded them in for a lightweight sweater and shorts. I'm always a little apprehensive the first time I slide on shorts after the long winter months to reveal my translucent legs, but fortunately I've been applying sunless tanner in anticipation of spring break, so I felt I wouldn't be scaring anyone just yet!
