It's been a looong time since I've worn jeans, so with this breezier weather we've had this week, I was thrilled to pull on an old favorite of mine. And pairing them with this bright lemon colored top was a perfect match for a mid-week pick-me-up! Shop my look and similar items below.

Blue Shorts
Back now from vacation and done with a week-long volunteer gig at my kids' summer camp, I'm hoping to get back to blogging here. But with life as it is in the summer, you never know how each day will end up. In any case, I'm happy to be here now. This outfit is pretty typical of what I've been throwing together most days. A breezy top, lightweight shorts and coordinating accessories. It's really a simple formula for a pulled together look from head to toe.

Sweet Pineapple
Can it get any sweeter than this pineapple tank from the Peter Som for Kohls line? The soft and flowy feel of this top will be perfect for those smoldering South Carolina summer days. I added these amber colored earrings (another steal from my Mom!), an arm full of colorful beads and laid back sandals for a slightly boho look.

White Out
I recently bought this white eyelet dress at Old Navy (their spring line is good) and knew instantly it would be one of my favorite pieces. I added a cognac belt and wedge sandals for my last Sunday School class this weekend, and could easily dress it up with a statement necklace and strappy heels. One piece styled several ways is a recipe for success!

Dressing Down a Skirt
No question that the pattern and shape of this pencil skirt is universally flattering for all body types and perfect for an easy office look. But when you add a graphic t-shirt and sneakers, it is a great way to dress it down for an everyday look.

Colored Accents
Typically on a daily basis, adding in accessories after getting dressed is usually an after-thought. So when adding these colored accents to this otherwise neutral outfit, I was happy that I spent an extra few minutes gathering them up.

It's a Wrap
Typically the hand-me-downs I receive (or usually take) from my Mom are necklaces, colorful earrings and the occasional handbag. So when she mentioned this cashmere wrap sweater was too "itchy" for her delicate skin, I excitedly accepted her generous donation! Not only is this the softest sweater I own, but the color and versatility of it is a perfect transitional piece for this time of year. Wear it over a few layers if you're climate hasn't thawed from the Polar Vortex or top it over a simple tank for the warmer spring days ahead.

Less is More
This navy on navy look with a touch of gold was all my brain could put together this morning. However, as simple as this outfit is, it worked well for me today. Less truly is more sometimes!

Midwest is Best
I was born and raised in Chicago, so after moving to Charlotte this past summer, my mother didn't want me to forget my roots apparently and gifted me this super soft t-shirt. You can either dress it up or wear it to bed - either way, the perfect tee in my book!
